Mayor reviews activities of various departments

Mayor S.M. Velusamy on Wednesday reviewed activities of the various departments of the Corporation.

According
to an official release, he instructed the Highways Department that
steps should be taken to complete the Textool Bridge project
expeditiously once the works commence. The tender for the project would
be floated on July 15.

Further, when the works for
construction of a flyover at Gandhipuram were taken up, the Highways
Department should take into account the number of buses and also the
number of trips operated from the Gandhipuram. Accordingly, there should
be a plan for hassle-free traffic management.

With
underground drainage works on the verge of completion at Lakshmi Mills
Junction, the Mayor urged the Highways Department to expeditiously
complete the roads works from Lakshmi Mills Junction to Puliakulam.
