Mayor writes to vigilance department over handcart licenses
PANAJI: Panaji mayor Surendra Furtado has written to the director of vigilance demanding the early completion of the seven-year-long investigation into the alleged tampering of documents relating to the handcart licenses.
Furtado states in the letter, “It is regretted that except exchanging some correspondence from your directorate, no conclusive investigation has been done in this matter.” He demanded that the inquiry be completed in 15 days.
The CCP also said that if the vigilance department fails to do so, the CCP will approach the Lokayukta with names of officers who delayed the investigation in the matter.
