MC seals 3 shops, two offices at bus stand

Ludhiana: In order to recover Rs 71 lakh as house tax from the MJR projects, a company maintaining bus stand, the house tax branch of municipal corporation sealed three shops and two offices of the company at bus stand today. Confirming the same, Zonal Commissioner P S Ghumman said, “As a token we have sealed these shops and offices. The company has given in writing that they will clear the outstanding amount by March 25.”
“In order to avoid public inconvenience, we did not seal all the shops,” he added. Apart from this, the MC had also pasted a notice outside Flamez mall seeking outstanding payment of Rs 1.95 crore. Ghumman said, “Their court hearing is on March 18 and we will decide the next course of action after that.”
