MCC to strengthen MysoreOne centres
Mysore, December 6, DHNS:
In a bid to make all its services hassle-free, MysoreOne centres across the city would cater all the five services of Mysore City Corporation (MCC), including issuing building license, khatha and others.
The people-friendly move will come into effect soon, if MCC has its way.
Disclosing this at a meeting chaired by the District Incharge Minister S A Ramdas to review the progress of various departments at ZP hall here on Monday, MCC Commissioner K S Raykar said the the corporation has approached the department of e-governance to add all those services in MysoreOne centres. “The principal secretary of e-governance has shown keen interest in this regard. The programme will come into effect as soon as the software is developed,” he said.
Raykar said the MCC has extended five major services like issuing birth and death certificates, trade license, building license, Katha’s for houses besides others. Except housing services, i.e building license and khatha, the civic body has delegates the powers to issue other certificates to nine zonal offices. The Assistant Commissioners of all zones are vested powers to issue these certificates. “Despite working hard to curb unnecessary harassment to public, we have observed that public are troubled and harassed while issuing building license. Extension of services to the MysoreOne will solve this problem if the applicant has all the correct documents and papers,” he said.
The Commissioner added that the MCC would also bring reforms in awarding tender for road cutting to avoid delay in asphaltation of damaged roads. A survey has brought to fore that about 8090 houses in city do not have UGD connection. These houses will be connected with UGD and the entire city would become 100 per cent UGD connected by the end of March next year,” he added.
On a suggestion from Minister to make the city free from flex and banners, the Commissioner said the MCC had already chalked out a programme to make the city free from all flex, including advertisements hoarding. “We have not issued any fresh license for advertisement boards in city. The agreement with the existing license holders would expire in March next year. The MCC is determined to see that Mysore became the first slum and hut free city in India”.
Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, ZP CEO Sathyavathi, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, Additional Superintendent of Police Venkatswamy and heads of various departments in the district attended the meeting.
