MCD gets HC nod to remove ads from Metro sites
NEW DELHI: Delhi high court has allowed MCD to remove commercial advertisement boards put up by DMRC on the railings/grills near Metro stations.
Lifting its stay to the extent of removal of hoardings in green strip area between two pillars, Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw on Monday permitted MCD to go ahead. The nod from HC came after DMRC told the court that it had no objection to removal of commercial ads.
Earlier, HC had stayed MCD’s move to remove the hoardings at various locations for allegedly not sharing the revenue with the civic body. The court had asked DMRC to furnish the accounts pertaining to revenue collected by it from the advertisements and sought a response from DMRC’s clients.
