MCN to issue notices to 50 dilapidated buildings
In the wake of the collapse of City Lights Hotel in
Hyderabad, the authorities of the Municipal Corporation of Nizamabad
have decided to issue notices to over 50 old and dilapidated buildings
in the town.
Most of them are located in the old town
and aged above 70 years. Private building owners, after knowing the
MCN’s plan, raised objection. But the authorities were determined to go
ahead with the decision to save precious lives, according to K.
Mallikarjuna Rao, Assistant City Planner.
The authorities began the demolition process by pulling down one of its own old buildings at Bada Bazar on Wednesday.
