MDDA nod for residential project at Dhakpatti
Development Authority (MDDA) board has approved the plan for a
residential project at Dhakpatti, Rajpur while it has also planned to
decrease the proportion of bank guarantee for land plotting from 100 per
cent to 25 per cent. These and other decisions were taken during the
MDDA board meeting on the weekend.
The proposed residential facility approved by the MDDA board will
comprise more than 800 flats for EWS, LIG, MIG and HIG. The flats will
cover 5.4 hectare area at Dhakpatti and cost a total of Rs 148 crore.
The Garhwal Commissioner and MDDA chairman Subardhan has directed
officials to fufill all construction related formalities at the
earliest. The process of securing the required permissions from the Government will also be speeded up.
Apart from this decision, another important decision taken by the board
was aimed at tackling illegal land plotting which has become rampant in
Dehradun and adjoining areas. The builder was till now supposed to
deposit 100 per cent of the on site cost as bank guarantee while getting
the building layout passed by the authority.
The MDDA will now study the system followed by authorities in other
States and reduce the proportion of bank guarantee to 25 per cent. It is
hoped that this will not only discourage illegal plotting but also
encourage legitimate plotting.
