Metropolitan planning committees after polls

HYDERABAD: The government informed the Assembly on Monday that
metropolitan planning committees, as required by 74 {+t} {+h}
Constitutional Amendment to prepare draft development plans for
metropolitan areas as a whole, were not constituted for any of the
cities in the State so far.
In a written reply to a question, Minister for Municipal
Administration M. Maheedhar Reddy said that a committee would be
constituted for Hyderabad soon after completion of Gram Panchayat
elections.
