Minister directs officials to complete water projects
All drinking water supply works taken up as part of the
drought relief works in the district should be completed within a week,
said K.A. Jayapal, Fisheries Minister, here on Sunday.
The
Minister issued the direction at a meeting with officials of the Tamil
Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Tangedco, and local bodies to
review the execution of drinking water supply works. He reviewed the
progress in the project, which included sinking of borewells with hand
pumps and power pumps, extension of pipelines, and removing silt from
wells. He instructed the officials to ensure that all drinking water
sources were maintained properly and prevent leaks in water lines. T.
Munusamy, Collector, Nagai Mali, MLA, and officials attended the
meeting.
