MNS says desilting work shoddy, gifts silt to civic chief

Mumbai: Expressing dissatisfaction over the desilting work done by the BMC, party workers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Monday presented a container of silt to the municipal commissioner.“We handed over the silt to municipal commissioner to emphasis that desiliting work has been done in a shoddy and incomplete manner,” said Mangesh Sangale, group leader of MNS. Municipal Commissioner Swadheen Kshatriya was unavailable for comment.
Though the civic body had claimed that 95% nullah cleaning has been done, citizens and corporators have claimed otherwise.
