NEW DELHI: After being cleared by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee in January, the civic body’s mammoth Rs.6,436.70 crore budget would be tabled for final approval at the MCD House meeting here on Monday.
According to MCD Leader of House Subhash Arya, several new proposals would be added to the initial proposals. “A major proposal would be to increase the funds by 25 lakh per head for all 272 councillors. New road development schemes amounting to Rs.700 to Rs.800 crore for the villages falling in the MCD area of jurisdiction would also be announced. In addition, we are also planning to allocate separate development funds for councillors from these village areas.”
