More measures to tackle dengue
Development Commissioner I. Srinivasan on Tuesday took
stock of the dengue cases in the city and ordered for some more measures
to check the spread of the disease.
Mr. Srinivasan,
while attending a meeting here, allowed the Cuttack Municipal
Corporation (CMC) to engage 300 more casual workers for taking up the
sanitation programmes, including the measures to check the mosquito
menace in the city. The civic body was allowed to purchase 30 more Tiffa
machines for anti-mosquito larvae work.
Similarly, the strength of dengue ward in SCB Medical College and Hospital was enhanced from 100 to 150 beds.
Additional funds were also released for the civic body to purchase ML oil and other chemicals for anti-mosquito operation.
