VASCO: Mormugao municipal council (MMC) has launched an exercise to prepare an inventory of its assets in the port town.

The report is being prepared on the instructions of the Goa state urban development agency
(GSUDA). An official said the exercise is part of the scheme of things
to avail of central government schemes. The inventory of its assets,
specially of its properties, is necessary when it will apply for funds
from Jawaharlal Nehru National urban renewal mission ( JNNURM).

MMC vice-chairperson Krishna Salkar said that since BJP
has come to power, it is taking development seriously. He said there
are many schemes which can be availed of adding that MMC would be
maintaining e-records.
