MUDA commissioner takes charge by ‘force’
Ramesh had been serving as commissioner of MUDA until July 3 when the state government abruptly transferred him as Chief Officer in Madikeri municipality.
He was replaced by Madhukar Gadkar who was serving as Joint commissioner in Mangalore City Corporation (MCC).
A peeved Ramesh challenged his transfer in KAT (Karnataka Administrative Tribunal).
Ramesh, who argued that the transfer was a demotion and came in between the schooling of his children, succeeded in obtaining a status-quo order from KAT.
Based on the order from KAT, Madhukar Gadkar returned as joint commissioner to MCC and Ramesh as Commissioner of MUDA.
Sources in MUDA told Express that neither Gadkar nor MUDA chairman Madhav Bhandary responded positively on returning the key in order to open the chamber.
