Municipal Commissioner visits dumping sites

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu on Tuesday asked officials to explore the possibility of creating more dumping yards on the outskirts of the city.
He visited the dumping site at Shriram Energy Systems at Ajit Singh Nagar and the Pathapadu dumping pit being readied.
Mr. Ravi Babu asked the officials to prepare a report on municipal solid waste generation and the possibilities of creating more dumping yards. Any new dumping yard on the outskirts should not cause inconvenience to the people living there, he said.
The Commissioner, who took charge only on Monday, visited Vambay colony and surrounding areas and asked the officials to study the possibility of laying a road from water tanker road to Devinagar. He also visited the BRTS model bus stop put up at the PWD grounds, and enquired as to how many suggestions and feedback slips were put in the drop box. He also inspected the ongoing works like bridge on Ryve’s canal, BRTS road, street lighting and so on.
Chief City Planner P. Timma Reddy, SE Yohan, Executive Engineers Srinivas Rao and Karthik, Dhanunya and others were present.
