Municipal Minister on inauguration spree
Municipal Minister M. Mahidhara Reddy went on an inauguration spree in the city by opening various public facilities on Tuesday.
Minister
for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh, MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy,
Yerragondapalem MLA Suresh, Collector Sudharsan Reddy were present.
The
Minister inaugurated a toilet complex at Budhawarpet, a community hall
at Chanikyapuri Colony, wall graffiti at Visweswaraya Circle, a street
sweeping machine at Venkataramana Colony, a drain cleaning machine and a
mobile toilet unit.
The Minister said that the
government accorded highest priority to sanitation and cleanliness in
urban areas. He appreciated his colleague T.G. Venkatesh for developing
Kurnool as a model city and said that Kurnool would be replicated
elsewhere.
He said that the drinking water supply was
being improved in urban areas without burdening the poor. He said that
Mahila Swasakthi buildings were being constructed in all municipalities.
Municipal
Department has sufficient funds to construct buildings if land was
available, he said. Mr. T.G. Venkatesh said the community toilets were
being modernised in a phased manner.
After
inaugurating the additional classrooms at the Municipal School in the
SAP camp, he said that sufficient number of classrooms would be put up
in all schools soon.
