Municipal ward visit programme launched
The ambitious Municipal Ward Sandarshana (municipal ward
visit) programme, conceived by Collector M. Veerabrahmaiah to solve the
local civic problems and other issues, was formally launched in the
36th and 38th divisions of the town on Thursday.
The
ward visit programme would be conducted in all municipalities and
corporations on Thursdays. Collector Veerabrahmaiah visited the two
divisions and interacted with the residents and inquired about their
problems such as drinking water supply, sanitation and streetlights. He
also informed the residents to submit application forms pertaining to
issuance of new ration cards, Aadhar cards, pensions, etc.
Medical
department authorities, along with the hospitals providing Rajiv
Arogyasri health insurance scheme such as Apollo Reach Hospital, also
participated in the programme and provided medical assistance. The
municipal team inspected the urban health centre, school, residential
hostels and ration shops and inquired about the problems.
Procession taken out
The
students also took out processions empowering the residents about the
importance of sanitation and cleanliness. He called upon the officials
to solve the problems of the residents immediately in coordination with
all departments.
