Municipal workers seek minimum wages, PF
Municipal workers staged dharna before Kadapa Collectorate on Monday
demanding minimum wages, ESI facility and crediting of deducted
provident fund sums in their accounts to regular as well as contractual
workers in Kadapa Municipal Corporation and six municipalities in Kadapa
district.
Permanent employee as well as contractual workers and
DWCRA society-sponsored workers were not paid salaries ranging from 2 to
10 months, lacked minimum wages and not given uniforms, slippers, masks
and cosmetics, A.P. Municipal Workers and Employees Union honorary
president S. Siddhiramaiah, president B.V. Ramana and general secretary
K. Tirupal alleged. They demanded grant of house sites to municipal
workers and grant of possession certificates to houses in which they
were residing.
