Mysore’s wait for Mayor will end today
The city’s six-month wait for a Mayor will finally be
over as the elected members of the Mysore City Corporation (MCC) will be
inducted into the council on Thursday followed by the polls to elect
the first citizen of Mysore.
The elections held in
March threw up a hung council. In the 65-member House, the Congress has
22 seats, the JD(S) 20, the BJP 12, independents 7, the Socialist
Democratic Party of India (SDPI) 2 and the BSR Congress and the KJP have
one seat each.
