Namma toilets to be built in city soon
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation VMC) will build Namma toilets in the city.
The
Corporation is planning to construct Namma toilets as part of its
initiative to provide decent sanitation facilities. Municipal
Commissioner C. Hari Kiran and other higher officials visited various
places in the city on Tuesday to identify suitable places for Namma
toilets to put an end open defecation.
Raghavaiah
Park, Mallikarjunapeta, Chuttugunta, and Machavaram down are few areas
that were identified for pilot project. At each place 3 toilets from
women, 2 for men and 2 for physically challenged would be constructed.
Nominal charges would be collected from users, he said.
