Nine members of MCD panel to retire
Nine members of the high-power Standing Committee of the Municipal
Corporation of Delhi would retire soon and fresh selection would be
conducted as per the recommendations of the MCD House which is the
sanctioning authority in this routine procedure.
Of the 18 elected members of the Standing Committee,
R.K. Singhal, Suman Kumar Gupta, Razia Sultana, Rajni Abbi, Vjay Pandit,
Gulshan Bhatia, Avtar Singh Hit, Rajesh Kaur and Jai Bhagwan Yadav are
retiring. Accordingly, the matter would be placed before the MCD and the
wards committee concerned for filling up the posts.
Meanwhile, to tide over staff shortage in the civic
body, the MCD would start recruiting group “D” employees on a regular
basis again after a gap of 14 years. To streamline this recruitment
process a board has been constituted and guidelines have been framed.
The board would be headed by Additional Commissioner (Establishment).
Under the new system, the department concerned would
send a proposal for recruitment to the board and then names of eligible
candidates would be called from the employment exchange.
Also the board would decide the modalities for the appointment and eligibility criteria.
