The municipal commissioner of the
Nashik Municipal Corporation, Sanjay Khandare, has assured a delegation
of Ambad industries and Manufacturers’ Association (AIMA) that a new
fire brigade station in Ambad industrial areas will be set up as soon as
the plot is allotted by the MIDC. There has been a strong demand by
the industries to have separate fire brigade station in Ambad MIDC
since the past few years. However, even though there has been a constant
follow-up with the MIDC, no progress has been seen in this regard. A
delegation of office-bearers of local industrial associations had also
recently met the deputy CEO of MIDC, Madhukar Raje Ardad.

This issue was also raised by the industry bodies at the recent meeting of Zilla Udyog Mitra
(ZUM) with the district collector Vilas Patil in the chair. The
district collector at the ZUM meeting had instructed the executive
engineer of MIDC Shivji Tupe to start the process of identifying the land for the fire brigade station in Ambad.Speaking to TOI, AIMA
President Suresh Mali said, “We recently met Khandare and held talks
over setting up of a separate fire brigade station for Ambad. Khandare
has assured us that a new fire brigade station will be set up if MIDC
allots a plot.””Some units in Ambad MIDC were gutted in fire during
the last one-and-a-half years due to delay in reaching fire tenders on
time. We wanted a separate fire station for Ambad as there are close to
1,500 units here,” Mali said. A delegation, led by AIMA president
Suresh Mali, also included, General Secretary Rajendra Ahire, treasurer
Unmesh Kulkarni, members Uttam Donde, Venkatesh Murti, Sunil Jadhav and
Anil Dingare.
