No parking on pavements in Salt Lake
Kolkata, 19 December – Residents of Salt Lake can no longer park their cars on the footpath as
the Bidhannagar Municipality has decided that it will construct railings
along footpaths in all the blocks and main roads of Salt Lake.

The height of the footpath will also be raised by two inches from six to eight, a Bidhannagar Municipality official said.
Due to limited parking space, car owners of Salt Lake had started using
the footpath. This has been causing a lot of inconvenience to the
pedestrians.
