The action report, taken by the respective zonal offices of the civic
body, shows the highest penalty a contractor had to pay was R2,42,750
while the lowest fine was R5,000.

A parking lot at Tanga Stand, Qutab Road, Sadar Bazar in SP Zone, has
been booked while in Karol Bagh Zone, parking lots in Ajmal Khan Road,
Kalra Hospital, T-Point at Naraina, Y Block Loha Mandi, Ajmal Khan Road
II, Arya Samaj Road I, under Kirti Nagar flyover and Shastri Park have
faced the civic body’s flak.

In Civil Lines, bus parking at Mori Gate, truck parking at Gokhale
Market, and two sites near Ritz Cinema and Parallel City Wall have been
booked.

Meanwhile in west Delhi, in Rohini, the violating lots are around
Saroj Hospital, zonal office of Rohini, D Block Prashant Vihar, Sant
Nagar in Rani Bagh, outside Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Railway Reservation
Office in Sector 17, transport authority in Sector 16 and Everbake
Restaurant.

In city zone, Ram Lila Maidan, Radha Mohan Club, Bal Bhawan on Kotla Road and Dangal Maidan are the booked lots.

“Under our new policy, which is being implemented for the first time,
parking contractors will have to follow various guidelines, violations
of which will result in hefty fines and even cancellation of their
licences. The violations include no uniforms for parking attendants,
lack of a proper complaint register, overcharging, no notice boards
displaying detailed information of the lot, etc.,” a senior North
official told Hindustan Times.

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has 116 parking sites, out of which 62 were tendered a few months back.

A survey has been conducted for 100 other potential sites, out of which 25 have been sent for traffic clearance.

It also has four-multilevel parking sites.
