Panel for supply of natural gas in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: In a bid to establish and strengthen the natural gas distribution network in the State, the government has constituted a separate committee for Greater Hyderabad on the lines of the single window clearance committees formed at the district and State levels.
The natural gas distribution network is being developed for supply directly to households in all major cities.
The Special Officer and Commissioner of Greater Hydearbad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be the chairman of the 16-member committee which will act as the nodal agency for Single Window Clearance for Natural Gas Distribution Network in Greater Hyderabad limits. The district collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, along with senior officials from Industries, Factories, APSRTC, Municipal Administration, Roads and Buildings, Irrigation, Power, Telecom and Bhagyanagar Gas Limited will be the members of the special committee.
The committee has been constituted to receive applications from entities authorised by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board for all clearances for laying natural gas transmission and city gas distribution pipeline network. It will also review and monitor the processing of applications by the competent authorities and forward the orders of the competent authorities to the applicant. It can also forward applications with remarks and relevant documents to the State committee for further decision.
The committee is empowered to examine any order passed by any competent authority, reject any clearance or approve it with modification, and forward such cases to the State Committee with remarks and relevant documents for a decision.
