‘Parking attendants do no other work apart from issuing slips’
Madan Singh, Businessman
Lack of parking space is causing a lot of inconvenience. Whenever we want to park our vehicle in Sector 17 or 35, the parking lot is always full. The Municipal Corporation has framed rules but these are rarely followed. The number of vehicles is increasing at a fast pace. People do not follow rules. They do not park cars properly.

If the parking is full, parking attendants should not allow cars to enter. It is just a way to mint money rather than providing any facility to the residents. While during weekdays, it is hard to find space to park during evening, on weekends it is impossible to park even during the day.
Kamal Bhardwaj, Businessman
Whenever I go to Sectors 17, 22, or 35, I find it really hard to find space to park my car. The vehicles are haphazardly parked adding to chaos. The attendants seem to have no other work apart from issuing parking slips. They do not help us to park our vehicles. Even if the parking lot is full, slips are issued.

The parking lots are always full and people park their cars whether there is space or not. The vehicles are haphazardly parked. No one is following any rules. People park cars according to their convenience.
Surinder Singh, Government employee
Parking problems are increasing day by day. Sometimes we have to wait for more than 15 minutes to park our car. There are times when it is not possible to find a place to park. We have to park on the outskirts of the sector and then walk quite a distance to the market.

The parking lots in the basements need to be utilised if the parking problem is to be eased out. Better lighting and security in these parking lots would encourage people to use them.
Kanika Bakshi, Dell employee
The management of parking lots is not at all proper. The attendants are not capable of handling the rush of vehicles. This causes a lot of problems. Some long term measures are required to streamline parking in the years to come.
Nitin Sharma, Student
There is no one to guide where to park. If someone has parked wrongly the person should be told to park it properly. Many a times there is no space. Sometimes, I go around twice or thrice looking for parking, but I am not able to park my car.
