‘Pay property tax dues and arrears’
Tiruchirapalli City Corporation has urged all government
departments to pay their property tax dues and arrears before the end
of the financial year.
At a review meeting with
officials of the departments concerned here on Thursday, V.P.Thandapani,
Corporation Commissioner, said government departments owed the civic
body about Rs. 9 crore by way of current property tax demand and
arrears. Of this, just Rs. 1.63 crore had been realised so far this
year, leaving an outstanding dues of Rs. 8.21 crore.
Of the total water charges dues of Rs. 2.39 crore, only Rs. 1.08 crore had been realised.
The
civic body was working towards achieving cent per cent tax collection
and the entire tax dues had to be remitted before March 31, he said.
