PCMC standing committee approves Scada project
With this system, it will be possible for the PCMC to control all the water reservoirs in the municipal limits, the water purification plants as well as the water supply network. The PCMC will also be able to take immediate steps if there is a problem in the water supply from any reservoir.
Speaking to TOI on Tuesday, Bhausaheb Supe, member of the standing committee said that the proposal to make payment of Rs 9 lakh for usage of private equipment for extinguishing the fire that occurred in November at Moshi garbage depot had come up for discussion. The proposal sought approval for hiring more equipment for the work at the Moshi garbage depot.
Supe said the members pointed out that PCMC should buy its own equipment instead of paying Rs 26 lakh per year as rent to contractors.
The resolution for laying water pipelines to improve the water supply in zone B at an expenditure of Rs 2.18 crore was approved in the meeting. The resolutions to undertake hot mix asphalting of various roads in Nandanvan colony and Shri Nursery areas of Wakad at an expenditure of Rs 42 lakh was also approved at the meeting.
