PCMC to draw up rules as per grade ‘B’ status
PUNE:
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will prepare new
recruitment and service categorization rules in accordance to the B
category status awarded to it by the state government few days back.
PCMC’s assistant commissioner and chief of administration department
said: “The civic body had drafted the new rules when it was awarded the C
category municipal corporation status. It took almost a year for the
approval to come. Now, the municipal corporation has been upgraded to B
category. Therefore, new rules need to be drafted as per its new
status.”
The new draft rules will be prepared in next two
months and tabled before the law committee and the general body. After
the approval of the general body, it will be sent to the state
government for final approval.
Hanumant Landge, chief
spokesperson, Pimpri Chinchwad Mahanagarpalika Karmachari Mahasangh,
said, “PCMC came into existence in 1982. The civic administration and
the ruling parties tried that recruitment and service categorization
rules are not prepared. But after a long time the civic administration
prepared the rules and submitted it to the law committee for approval.
But the civic administration has now withdrawn these proposals and will
be preparing new rules as per the B category.”
