People urged to pay civic taxes
The Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner Ch. Hari Kiran has
appealed to the people of the city pay all their property tax and other
dues to the VMC within the stipulated time or face action under Revenue
Recovery Act.
Speaking to people in the Circle –II
on Thursday, he said that many assesses had not been paying their taxes
despite repeated warnings. Revenue wing raids were conducted on Thursday
in Vambay colony and surrounding areas disconnecting water motors at
four apartments and collected Rs.2 lakh as property tax, assistant
commissioner Nagakumari said.
In Circle-III water
connection was disconnected for 40 houses, three shops and four houses
seized, for not paying property and water tax. About Rs.3 lakh was
collected as taxes in the Circle-III.
