PMC pulls down 6-storey building in Ghorpadi
Intesifying its drive against illegal construction in the city, PMC
administration Wednesday pulled down a six-storey building in Ghorpadi
after vacating the building occupied by 18 families.
“The illegal building was in the category of dangerous structure
because of poor quality construction. Thus, a notice was slapped in
January,” PMC press statement said.
The building had 36 apartments and 18 of them were occupied by
residents, it said adding, “There was opposition from residents to
demolish it. The administration with the help of police vacated it
before pulling it down.” The building was constructed in 3,500 sq feet
area, while the FSI was 25,000 sq ft.
