Bangalore: The Election Commission has announced the calendar of events for byelections to 27 wards in various urban local bodies in the State.
Elections will be held on September 26 for 27 wards in 13 urban local bodies.
The deputy commissioners of the districts would issue the poll notification on September 6.
Filing of papers
The last date for filing of nomination papers is September 13 and the last date for withdrawal of papers September 16.
Polling would be held between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the above date.
The counting will be taken up on September 28, the press release from the commission said.
Those going to the polls are: Bellary City Corporation (two wards); Siraguppa Town Municipal Council (two); Sankeshwar TMC, Athani TMC, Ramadurga TMC and Kudachi Town Panchayat (one each); Lakshmeshwar TMC (two); Mundaragi TMC (two); and Gajendragad (one), Mahalingapura and Teradala TMC (one each) in Bagalkot district; Koppal CMC (two); Ranebennur TMC (one); Karwar TMC (one), Mulbagal and Malur (one each) in Kolar district; Molakalmuru Town Panchayat (one) in Chitradruga district; Tumkur CMC and Madhugiri TMC (one each); and Navalagund, Raichur and Bidar CMCs (one each), the commission press note said.
The model code of conduct, which came into force on August 12, will be in force till September 29.
