Potholes cause nightmare for motorists
Many dignitaries and politicians, including officials of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) use this road every day. Some potholes on this road have the potential to pose a great danger for two-wheeler riders.
Surprisingly, the spot where the potholes have developed is just opposite to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office. A number of social activists and Congress party workers visit the office every day but noone has taken the initiative to complain to the authorities against this menace.
”Earlier, the BBMP authorities used to take initiative to fill up the potholes. Now, they are reluctant to take any action to do so,” said Syed Ahmed, a two-wheeler rider.
Echoing similar opinion, J Christopher, a two-wheeler rider, has said that these potholes pose great danger at night if the two-wheeler riders fail to notice them.
”I do not know what made the BBMP authorities to forget their responsibility. I hope some sense prevails on them to fill up the potholes immediately,” said Christopher.
Meanwhile, Gunasekhar, Corporator, Jayamahal Ward, has said that he has asked the executive engineer to prepare the list of roads where potholes have developed. ”I will direct the BBMP men to take measures to fill up the potholes,” said Gunasekhar.
However, Suresh, Executive Engineer, Shivajinagar Division, BBMP, has said that filling up potholes was assigned to Karnataka Land Army. ”The BBMP has assigned the Karnataka Land Army to fill up potholes. I have already submitted the list of roads that need immediate attention to it. I will remind them immediately,” said Suresh.
