Priority to laying of roads
The Madurai Corporation is giving special priority for
laying of roads in all the 100 wards for the convenience of people,
Mayor V.V.Rajan Chellappa said on Tuesday.
According
to him, nearly 90 per cent of the roads in the 72 old wards of the civic
body have been laid again and the remaining works will be completed
soon.
In the 28 wards which were
added to the Corporation as part of city extension, roads would be laid
after the underground drainage works were completed, he noted.
The
Mayor held discussion with Corporation Commissioner R.Nanthagopal and
senior officials on the amenities to be provided in various wards.
Mr.Rajan Chellappa visited Harveypatti and Thathaneri to inspect the implementation of AMMA Scheme.
