Protest against A2Z continues, memo submitted to DC
Continuing its protest against the garbage lifting company, A2Z,
Valmiki Samaj Bachao Andolan on Monday submitted a memorandum to the
Deputy Commissioner requesting him to deal with the matter on a priority
basis.
Surinder Kalyan, chief, Valmiki Samaj Bachao Andolan, said, “We
have asked DC to forward the memorandum to CM Prakash Singh Badal
immediately so that our jobs can be saved.”
Opposing the door-to-door garbage collection from the entire
city, VSMA has been holding continuous protests against the company for
past many months.
Kalyan added that “protests can also take an ugly turn if MC does not listen to our demands”.
At present, the company is lifting garbage from more than 25
wards while from the remaining wards, members of the Samaj lift the
garbage from homes and dump it at the dumping grounds marked by the MC,
from where A2Z lifts the garbage and takes it to the main dumping
ground.
