State Government has sanctioned Rs 12.57 crore for water supply to
the slums covered under Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) in the City. The funds
were provided to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The
Corporation will be the nodal agency for the project. Under the scheme,
water supply will be provided to the slum dwellers by constructing water
stand posts or digging tubewells in their localities.
Division-I
has been allotted ` 3.68 crore, Division-II ` 7.19 crore and
Division-III ` 1.85 crore. Currently, the water supply to the slums is
