Rs. 120 cr. for satellite town near Madurai
To come up in Thoppur, Uchapatti villages near Tirumangalam
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has sanctioned Rs. 120 crore
for setting up basic infrastructure for the satellite town proposed in
Thoppur and Uchapatti villages near Tirumangalam.
An
official statement said that the integrated satellite town has been
proposed along the Madurai-Tirunelveli four-way highway on 586.86 acres
of land belonging to Tamil Nadu Housing Board.
Out of
the 19,500 house site plots, 14,300 plots would be earmarked for low
income group, 2,500 for middle income group, 750 plots for high income
group. Similarly, 1,950 plots would be reserved for economically weaker
section.
The satellite town will have a school,
commercial establishments, police station, post office, primary health
centre and fire station.
The initial allocation of
Rs. 120 crore will be for laying roads, putting up drinking water,
drainage, storm water drain, minor bridges and street lights.
