Rs. 19-cr. worth schemes launched
Online payment of property tax facility launched
Minister for Municipal Administration and Waqf Qamarul
Islam on Monday inaugurated projects worth over Rs. 19 crore for
construction and improvement of existing roads in Gulbarga with the
funds available under various heads.
Accompanied by
senior officials of the district administration, including Deputy
Commissioner N.V. Prasad and city corporation Commissioner S. Kattimani.
Mr. Islam went to many places in the city and inaugurated the schemes,
including the online payment of property tax facility. The Gulbarga City
Corporation is the third body after Bangalore and Hubli-Dharwad to have
the online property tax payment facility. Under the facility, the
property owners can pay their property tax to any designated branch
online via Karnataka One Portal www.karnatakaone.gov.in. Mr Islam said
that the city corporation had purchased various equipment, including
street sweeping machine, water-based fuming machine, auto-tippers, multi
purpose jetting units and solid waste segregation machine at a total
cost of Rs 4.66 crore.
With the purchase of these equipment, the collection of solid waste would become easier and more orderly.
