Rs 215crore added to civic budget
MUMBAI: With an eye on the 2014 elections, the Shiv Sena- BJP alliance
in the BMC made additions worth Rs 215 crore to the municipal budget of
Rs 27,578 crore for the urban poor. The standing committee suggested the
BMC appoint architects to survey slum pockets, draw up a master plan
and suggest what needs to be done to provide basic facilities to them.

Standing committee chairman Rahul Shewale said money has been diverted from development plan department and from the asset replacement fund.
