Rs.2.46 crore to tackle drought
The district administration has sanctioned a sum of Rs.2.46 crore to tackle drought-related issues in Wayanad district.
Speaking
after a review meet on drought, chaired by Minister for Welfare of
Scheduled Tribes and Youth Affairs P.K. Jayalakshmi here on Friday,
District Collector K .Gopalakrishna Bhatt said the amount had sanctioned
after considering the proposals submitted by the local bodies in the
district.
The amount would be utilised to for
distributing drinking water on tanker lorries, cleaning water sources,
and augmenting depth of open wells, Mr. Bhatt said.
The meet also decided to submit a report to the Chief Minister during his visit scheduled for Saturday.
