Rs.50,300 collected as fine for dumping garbage
Around Rs.50,300 was collected as fine from defaulters
for dumping garbage in public places in the city in the last one week, a
statement released by city Corporation has said.Apart
from this, around 71 hotels in the city were issued notice to improve
their food safety and hygiene conditions in lightening inspections
conducted by the health squads of the Corporation.
The
activities taken up the health squads in the last one week were
discussed at a review meeting of health inspectors from all the health
circles of the city held on Friday. The health squads also issued notice
to 16 shops and commercial establishments in the city from where banned
plastic bags were seized.
The meeting has decided to
strengthen the vector control programe as well as pipe composting
source level waste treatment project. The statement added that the
Corporation would continue to take stringent action against people who
dumped in public spaces and also against hotels that did not comply with
food safety and hygiene norms.
