Salem Corporation to supply water using tractors
To meet the drinking water shortage, the City Municipal
Corporation has proposed to induct 19 tractors to supply water in select
areas.
The vehicles will have a capacity to supply
6,000 litres. The supply will be in few areas in Suramangalam and in
Ward 9 and 37. Officials said that tractors would be used from April 1
for one year. A resolution to this effect was recently passed at the
council meeting. A tender has been floated.
Last year, the corporation had sunk borewells to overcome shortage of water during summer.
