Shopping fete opens in city

KOCHI: Mayor of Kochi Corporation Tony Chamminy said that the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival held out great prospects for Kochi, which had more potential than other cities.
He was inaugurating the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival here at the Rajendra Maidan on Wednesday. He said that the encouragement provided by the State government was great and that the period of the shopping festival was an appropriate one. The shopping festival is on till January 15. Dominic Presentation, MLA, presided at the inaugural function. District Collector M. Beena delivered the keynote address.
President of Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry K. Abdullah; President of Kerala Small Industrial Association Shaji Sebastian and President of Kerala Merchants’ Union K. J. John spoke at the function. There are 42 Golden partners and 871 Silver partners for the Shopping Festival in the District.
