Signal at every 500m for low-floor buses on Bus Rapid Transit System
BHOPAL: There will be a traffic signal on every 500 metres on the Bus
Rapid Transit System (BRTS). This is being done to enable passengers to
exit the corridor.”In the 24 km-long corridor, bus stops will be at a distance of 500 meters in the middle of the corridor,” BMC commissioner Rajneesh Shrivastava said.
In order to let passengers exit, BMC will install pedestrian and traffic signals, wherever bus stops are.The buses have exit doors on left. “Even though, the bus stops are
situated in the middle of the corridor, the bus will have exit gates on
the left side itself. We do not have to order new buses,” he added. The
work is likely to be completed by March 2013.
