Six zones to monitor waste management
Administrator of the Mangalore City Corporation and
Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada A.B. Ibrahim instructed the
corporation Commissioner to divide the 60 wards into six zones and
appoint six senior officers as in-charge to supervise sanitation work in
the city. He gave the direction after conducting a meeting at the
corporation on Saturday. Earlier on Thursday, he instructed the
corporation to prepare a proposal within three months to construct an
energy generating unit from solid waste at Pachchanady, a release said.
