Special arrangements by BMC at immersion ghatsStaff Reporter | Bhopal
With a view to ensure adequate arrangements at the immersion ghats of the State capital, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) said Zonal Officers (ZOs) were posted at all the major ghats.
Further, fire fighters, divers, cranes, boats and other required amenities were also made available at all such places.The officials said Prempura, Rani Kamlapati, Bairagarh, Hathaikheda, Shahpura Lake, and Five Number Bus Stop Lake are the main immersion centres in the city. Apart from the routine squad; senior officials have also been deputed to look after the arrangements, they added.
It may be mentioned that, the Khatlapura ghat on Lower Lake that was being repaired by the civic body was also dedicated to the public on Sunday. At a simple
function held on the occasion, local Corporator Rehan Ahmed cut the ceremonial ribbon in presence of BMC officials and residents. Meanwhile, the officials said proper arrangements were also made along the route of the traditional Dussehra processions.
Apart from the patchwork of roads, proper cleanliness, lights and availability of drinking water was also ensured by keeping water tanks along all such routes, the officials
elaborated. Earlier in the day, senior officials of the BMC visited the immersion ghats
and took stock of the preparations. Informing that the concerned ZOs and the other local staff have been refrained from leaving the venue till the conclusion of the immersion process, authorities said efforts have been made to improve the services over the previous year.
