Standing panel chiefs elected

Thrissur: The chairpersons of standing committees of City Corporation were elected on Thursday. Seven chairpersons, all from UDF, were elected unanimously. The LDF councillors boycotted the voting.
The elected are: C.S. Sreenivasan (health); M L. Rosy (public works); Valsala Baburaj (welfare); John Kanjirathingal (development); K.S. Santhosh (town planning); Susan Baby (taxes and appeal) and M. Usman (education and sports). Deputy Mayor Susan Baby will head finance committee.
