Standing panel poll: all nominations valid

VISAKHAPATNAM: All the 23 nominations filed for contesting the membership of the Standing Committee of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation were found valid, Municipal Commissioner and Returning Officer V.N. Vishnu declared after scrutiny on Sunday.
Names of contestants would be printed in the Telugu alphabetical order on the nomination form, he said.
Withdrawal of nominations closes at 3 p.m. on September 29. Election will be conducted on October 5 and counting will be taken up the same day. Additional Commissioner S. Krishna Murthy, secretary P. Durga Prasad, and corporators B.S. Umamaheswara Rao, Md.Rafi, P.V. Narasa Kumari, Molli Lakshmi and Ch. Venkatalakshmi were present.
