People highlight grievances on ration cards, irrigation and pension
Rajiv Swagruha applicants reassured
Rajahmundry: Praja Patham to attend immediate requirements like drinking water, power supply and health issues began in East Godavari district on Monday.
The official teams attended in various mandals and municipalities in the district and received representations form people. However, people approached officials with grievances like ration cards, irrigation water and pension issues
At Ramachandrapuram, Minister for Social Welfare Pilli Subash Chandra Bose launched this programme in 5th ward and attended the programme in ward Nos. 6, 7, 8, 9 and 1
0. In this connection the Minister said that necessary steps would be taken to solve people’s problems on drinking water and electricity.
He said that awareness would be created on Aarogya Sri, Employment Guarantee Services among the public in addition to108, 104 services in Praja Patham. Joint Collector K. Sasidhar, Municipal Chairperson P. Jeevana Jyothi, Rajahmundry RDO Ch. Vinaya Mohan, Municipal Commissioner Simhadri Appanna and other officials attended.
At Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation the programme began in 2nd ward, where local MLA R. Surya Prakasa Rao, Mayor A.Veeraraghavamma, MLC K. Durgash and Municipal Commissioner K. Manikraj, ward Corporator P. Suryachandra Rao attended. In this meeting Rajahmundry MLA assured the Rajiv Swagruha beneficiaries that houses would be constructed in the form of apartments in the land acquired from endowments department for housing purpose at Rajahmundry.
“Praja Patham” started in Tuni, Peddapuram, Jaggampeta, Sankhavaram, Rampachodavaram, Maredumilli, and other five mandals in Agency and Pitapuram, Amalapuram and other municipalities.
However, people came with different types of grievances and officials and public representatives are only giving assurances on drinking water and electricity-related issues.
“Ration cards issue is main grievance in Praja Patham, but state government has directed us to sort out only two issues like drinking water and power,” said K. Sasidhar, Joint Collector.
