Stone laid for roads
Visakhapatnam South MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao on
Tuesday laid the foundation for works worth Rs.7 lakh for basic
amenities like roads and drains at Edugulla slum at Allipuram.
This
was made possible by the formation of “basti” committee by Campaign for
Housing And Tenurial Rights and negotiating with GVMC, according to
Pragada Vasu of CHATRI. Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana
visited the slum and agreed to provide the amenities.
The
slum was declared a notified slum by GVMC but some court cases over the
ownership of land delayed the much-needed amenities to the 64 families
living there.
